Canada is rebuilding its
defence industrial base
In February 2026, Prime Minister Carney launched Canada’s first Defence Industrial Strategy — a commitment to building sovereign defence capability at home, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, and ensuring Canada can protect its territory, its people, and its interests.
The strategy recognises that analytical capacity, intelligence infrastructure, and purpose-built technology are as important to sovereignty as hardware. Canada needs domestic producers at every layer of the defence ecosystem.
Waypointe Group was established ahead of this moment — not in response to it. We have been building Canadian-owned analytical and operational capacity since our founding, from our base in Ottawa.
